I'm a 41 year old collector of 40k for a few years. I used to play a mate of a similar age back in the late ninetees till it got real serious. We used to play on my ping pong table...shirts for goalposts etc. Then we decided to enter the 1999 40k GT. Brilliant weekend that was! Both of us came in the top 25 and got very drunk at Bugmans and got to kick the asses of people from all over Europe.

A year later we had tweaked our armies (I was Nightlords chaos and he was Ulthwe Eldar). Bugger me if my army didn't get in the "top 10 painted armies cabinet" for judging. Anyway, didn't win nothing, but that chubby White Dwarf editor guy scratch his chin for about 30 seconds, which made my weekend so we got drunk in Bugmans again...a lot.

A year later, and more tweaking, a new codex and the sound of chaos space marines and Eldar having their arms cut off, we tried to enter the GT again in 2001. Ticket lines opened at 0700 which was unfeisably early for me but I started ringing at 0650 and was put on hold. Finally at 0740 a Troll kindly answered the phone to inform me all the tickets were sold out. As you can imagine I was somewhat gutted. We didn't bother with 40k again, and the armies went back into their cases like Puff the magic dragon.

Anyway, my buddy moved away but my lust for dice combat never really died. I used to occasionally pop into GW Norwich to soak up the atmos on thursday nights, while trying not to look too much like a dad accompaning one of his kids. So about a year ago I began to create a brand new CSM army called the Blood Hands, as I got fed up with the Nightlords when GW started dictating their tactics(damn they got the sh**ty deal). So now the army is very nearly finished(well by the end of next month) and I can field a good 1500pts

So basically I'm up for a game with some experienced adult players who can gently ease me into the new rules as I'm still convinced a CSM squad can move 30 inches in a turn if they disembark a fully moved Rhino, shoots...assaults ...then rolls a 12 on 2D6 on a sweeping advance! Ahhh the good old days!

So if anyone can suggest a time and place for an old bugger to relearn how to kick ass, it would be appreciated.

(my dreadnought would love to meet you)
