GOBs Wargaming Club - Great Yarmouth

Postby Jon B on Fri Dec 21, 2007 4:37 pm

(Not sure why we haven't added our club yet, but here goes...)

Gt Yarmouth Good Old Boys

Meeting every Friday night : 7.00 - 10.30pm

The Priory
Priory Plain
Gt Yarmouth
NR30 1NW

We've got a big playing space with facilities (boards/scenery etc) for at least 30 players.
You can generally find games going on of WFB, 40K, FOW and AK47.
Plus many other games played on a semi-regular basis including Warmachine, Bloodbowl, Aeronef and various historical periods at different scales.

We're a friendly bunch, so pop along for a visit.

(Note - under 16's need to be accompanied by a parent).

Been looking for you guys! I knew you used to be at the labour club but didn't know where you had gone when it shut. Anyway...

I been collecting for ages now, and in the 14 odd years I've been buying Games Workshop products, I've never learnt to play! Just looking for somewhere to give me a game of 40k and teach me the rules. Can you guys help?
Mummy says I'm Special... Daddy left.

Of course feel free to come along.

40K is still going on at the club and I'm sure that one of the regular players can help you.

You'll be most welcome. We have a few 40K players. Perhaps in the future we might get you playing a proper game like WHFB or Flames of War.

Now, now Mike.
We'll have no game-snobbery here.

(Ours is a local club for local people, after all)

I’m interested in joining the club, I’m still new to Warhammer and still learning the rules, I only have a small Orc army so far about 500 points I think, but only a few ready to game with

Would it be ok if i come down on Friday so I can learn the rules and hopefully get a few small practice games in?

I play fantasy btw.

Just replied to your post in the Tavern.
Should've looked here first I guess. :D

You're very welcome to come along.
Most of us don't bite. (Except maybe Mike, but his medication seems to be working now  )

500pts is a bit low. We're generally playing 2000-2250pt games of Fantasy. But there's no doubt that someone will be up for arranging a few small games with you so you can get your head around the rules.
Games are generally arranged on a Friday night for the following week, so it's unlikely you'll get to play this week unless someone has an opponent drop out.
But there'll definitely be some games you can watch. (You can pull up a chair at my game if you want and I can give you a run-through of what's going on and why as we go along).
And you can arrange a game for the following week too. (Again, I'll be happy to oblige if there's no other takers).
